Define the operational purpose
We begin with the decisions your team needs to make. That may include reviewing the event footprint, identifying access routes, documenting site conditions, or supporting observation of agreed areas. The flight area, observation priorities, reporting method, and intended image or map deliverables are set in advance.
Check feasibility before promising coverage
Commercial operations require appropriately certificated remote pilots and compliance with applicable FAA requirements. Airspace, temporary flight restrictions, weather, visibility, launch locations, and nearby activity affect feasibility. Flights over people or at night require specific conditions to be met; venue permission alone does not authorize a flight.
Connect the air and ground teams
A defined ground contact and communication plan help turn aerial observations into useful action. Launch and recovery areas should be protected, and the plan should include flight interruptions and alternate ground coverage. Image access, retention, and distribution are agreed with the client. Planning maps are not boundary surveys or survey-grade products unless separately scoped with appropriately qualified providers.
Common questions
That cannot be assumed. FAA rules impose conditions on operations over people and open-air assemblies. The proposed aircraft, operation, airspace, and any required authorizations must be reviewed before confirming coverage.
Tell us how the map or imagery will be used. We will define feasible coverage, format, timing, and accuracy expectations in the proposal. Specialized surveying or engineering deliverables require a separate qualified scope.
